J. Moore, wife of Rev. John N. Moore. She was born in Chester District, S. C. December 26th, 1836, Came to Alabama with her father, W. W. Worthy, when a child. Joined the Baptist church at Salem, Wesobulga, Ala in 1856 was married in 1859. Since her union with the church has lived a devoted Christian, was a devoted wife and faithful mother to her two children. She departed this life on the 30th of April 1893 age, 50 years, 4 months and 7 days. She has been a great sufferer all the latter days of her life, but bore her afflictions with Christian fortitude aid patience, manifesting strong faith in her Savior, frequently praying to Him to take her to Himself from her sufferings, expressing to her husband and friends that would be a sweeter life to be released from her sufferings, so God, in His infinite mercy and love, called her to His bosom on the night of April 30th, 1893. She had previously made requests as to place of interment, and how she should the prepared for burial. Sister Moore was an exemplary woman in many respects none knew her but to love her. Her modest, quiet, and uncontentious wavs won the admiration and love of all with whom she met. She leaves a husband, two children and twelve grandchildren and numerous friends to mourn her loss. Weep not, dear friends, for it has been thus since the world was, and will he till it ends. For life is but the germ of death, and death the development of a higher life. A Friend.
