Alabama Journal 
Morris W. Morgan 81 died Monday at Clay County Hospital. Services were Tuesday at 
2 p.m. from the First Methodist Church, Ashland, the Rev. John Bankhead Collier 
officiating Burial was in City Cemetery Ashland, Blair Funeral Home of Ashland 
directing. Survivors include a son, Morris W. Morgan Jr., Alexander City; two 
sisters, Mrs. Z. J. Daniel,  Mrs. R. R. Depreist, both of Montgomery: three 
brothers, Dr. Harmon Morgan, Houston, Tex., T. Earl Morgan. Cecil C. Morgan, both 
of Selma; two stepdaughters, Mrs. C. E. Barnes, Selma. Mrs. W. R. Auchors, 
Jacksonville, Fla. Active pallbearers will be Ed Weaver, E. G. Whatley, Perry 
Caldwell, Doster Jordan, Oliver White and Bobby Wynn Honorary pallbearers were 
members of the board of stewards of Ashland Methodist Church.
