Ashland Progess
C. R. Morris, a lifelong resident of Clay County and member of a well-known 
family, died at his home between Ashland and Mellow Valley, Friday night, October 
9, at the age of 65 years. He had been failing in health all last year and had 
been confined to his bed ever since March. Funeral services were held at 10 
o'clock Sunday, morning, and his remains were interred in Providence cemetery 
near his home. Mr. Morris leaves a family. of six children, all of whom are 
married except one son. They are: Mrs. A. J. White, Mrs. K. J. White, Mrs. W. D. 
Carpenter, C. D. Morris, and Mrs. Aubrey Ward, who reside in Ashland or 
surrounding communities, and Grady Morris of Winter Garden, Fla. They were all 
present at his death and funeral.
