Ashland Progress
On Sunday. May 25, Mrs. Delana Nix Morris died at her home here. She was buried 
the following day at Motley. Rev. H. T. Tapley officiating. She was 50 years of 
age and was born and reared in the Sikesville community. She was loved by all who 
knew her and will be greatly missed. She joined Union Baptist church at an early 
age. She leaves her husband and three children, Clotis and Fred and Mrs. Walker 
Taunton, and five grandchildren, also her mother, Mrs. Henry Nix, four sisters, 
Mrs. Montana and Mrs. Arkatie Tidwell, Mrs. Octavie Bice, and Mrs. Gurtha 
Edwards; two brothers, Cleophus Nix of Alexander City and J. T. Nix of Florida. 
Pallbearers were Herman Killgore, Woodrow Tidwell, Talmage Tidwell, Clarence and 
Reginald Bice and Eldridge Nix.
