Munroe, a Clay County boy who was in the government aviation service at Aradia Cal., was the victim of a tragic accident which occurred Friday Jul 23. and resulted in his death the following Sunday. His remains were sent to his home at Millerville for burial accompanied by his comrade, Eugene King, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. King of Ashland. From him it is learned that the deceased was at the time of the accident at work in the building where bombs are made and that he carelessly threw down a cigarette which fell into a can fit powder nearby. The blast burned his fare badly and caught his clothes on fire. He ran out of the building and some, fifty yards away, then turned and ran back, falling in the door. His clothing was practically burned off of him. The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. F.B. Munroe. of Millerville, and his remains were interred in the Millerville cemetery. Sunday at 11 a.m. Rev. J.L. Ingram, conducting the funeral service. The two young men entered the service together, about a year ago but were working in different departments at the time of the untimely. accident. Eugene who was commissioned to accompany the body of his dead comrade home, will remain here with his parents about ten days.
