Anniston Star
Grover Cleveland Newell, 56. of 906 Bancroft Avenue died at Anniston Memorial 
Hospital yesterday afternoon at 5 30 after an illness of several days. Funeral 
services will be held at Mt. Moriah Church. near Delta, tomorrow at 2 p. m. with 
the Rev. Ben Matthews officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, Jones 
Funeral Home in charge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. G. C. Newell; four 
sons, Curtis, Billy, and Grover Newell, Jr. all of Anniston: and Coleman Newell 
of New York City: two daughters, Mrs. Maxie Pike of Anniston and Mrs. John Kelly 
of Ferrie Alta, West Va.; his mother, Mrs. Jim Newell of Delta; four brothers, 
William Newell of Santa Fe, N. M., Dewey and Troy Newell of Henegar; and Bowman 
Newell of Lineville; four sisters, Mrs. W. L. Sprayberry of Delta, Mrs. J. D. 
Smith of Wedowee, Mrs. J. W. Sprayberry of Heflin, and Mrs. May Smith of Delta.
