Anniston Star
Elam Grover Newell 97, of Heflin, Rt. 1, died Monday in Wedowee Hospital. Funeral 
services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with burial in 
the adjoining cemetery and Blair-Brown Service Funeral Home in charge. Survivors 
include his wife, Mrs. Dixie Newell; three daughters, Mrs. Eppie Mae Tate, Mrs. 
Mollie K. Brooks and Mrs. Mary Ruth Campbell, all of Heflin; three sons, John H. 
Newell, Elam Grover Newell and James Arnil Newell, all of Heflin, and 29 
grandchildren.
