Ashland Progress
Mrs. Callie Clemmie Nichols, widow of Mr. Van Nichols, passed away at the home of 
Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Nichols with whom she made her home on last Sunday morning, 
Jan. 27th. She was 79 years of age and had spent her entire life in and near 
Ashland. She is survived by three sons, J. T. Coley, and Joe. One daughter, Mrs. 
Alice Jones, of Clairmont, Fla., who was unable to come, and several 
grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church Monday, Jan. 28th 
at 11 o'clock with Rev. U. L. Higgins and Rev. J. N. Floyd officiating. Interment 
was in the city cemetery with Blair directing. Pallbearers were Marvin Hendricks, 
Cecil Sims, C. M. Pruet, Geo. Woods, Hubert Thompson and H. L. Jackson.
