At the time of his death Mr. Orr was about 94 years old and bad lived in what is now Clay County for more than seventy years. He came to this section while the Red Men of the forest still lived here and knew many interesting bits of history touching the early days of this section. During all the years of his life be had been a good citizen and was highly respected by all who knew him. He was buried at the Lineville cemetery on last Wednesday with Masonic honors. The ceremonies were very impressive and a large number of. Masonic Lodges were represented. Lineville Headlight, 29. Mr. Orr was the father of Mrs. R H McCain, of Talladega, and the father-in-law of Mrs. S.B. Orr. Mr. and Mrs. McCain and Sydney Orr attended the funeral. Lineville Headlight: Jehu Orr was born in South Carolina May 29, 1813. His parents moved to Hall County, Georgia when he was a child. He came to Alabama in 1836 and was married to Elizabeth Eidson in 1840; joined the Baptist church in 1879 and died March 25, 1907, aged 93 years 9 months and 27 days. Whereas, Brother Orr has been a faithful, true and consistent member of Lineville Lodge, No. 219 A. F. & A. M. Therefore, be it resolved, 1st. That in the death of Bro. Orr this Lodge has lost one of its oldest and best members; the community a useful citizen; the church an exemplary and upright member: the children an affectionate father; his wife having preceded him a number of years. 2nd. That while we mourn the departure of our brother, we bow in humble; submission to Him who doeth all things well, realizing that our departed Brother had lived to a ripe old age. 3rd. That a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of the Lodge,1 a copy sent to the family of the deceased, and a copy sent to The Headlight for publication.
