Orr, one of the old and estimable citizens of Clay County, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. Runyan, in Ashland, at an early hour Monday. He was 81 years of age and had been enfeebled by physical infirmities several years, his condition gradually growing worse, till the end came. Before his health failed, he resided on his farm and led an active farm life. His wife died nine years ago and since that time he has made his home with his children. Besides Mrs. Runyan, he is survived by two sons and one daughter. They are W. J. Orr, of Douglas, J. S. W. Orr, of Malone, and Mrs. A. T. Johnson of Boaz, all of whom were present at the funeral. One brother, Walter Orr, of Boaz, and one sister, Mrs. Tebe Walker, of Boaz. and quite a number of other relatives were also present. The funeral service was held at Salem church near Cragford, Tuesday. The service was in charge of Rev. B. R. Layton and Rev. F. J. Fleming, the funeral sermon being preached by the latter.
