Ashland Progress
Mrs. Elizabeth Birchfield Owen, 77, wife of H. L. Owen, Pyriton died April 17. 
Mrs. Owen was an active member of Concord Baptist Church almost all her life. She 
was the mother of four children, three of whom survive. Funeral services were 
conducted at Concord Baptist Church Wednesday at two p. m. with Rev. B. W. 
Mathews and Rev. Dee Hurst officiating. Blair directed. Pallbearers were: W. F. 
Owen, Jack B. Owen, Knox E. Owen; Brenton Owen and Hugo Jenkins. Mrs. Owen 
survived by her husband and three sons, P. E. Owen and W. H. Owen of Pyriton and 
J. D. Owen of Maud, Tex. Other survivors include nine grandchildren and nine 
great-grandchildren.
