Funeral services for the deceased were conducted by Rev. Grady Birchfield, assisted by Rev. W. L. Sprayberry with White Funeral Home directing. She was 57 years of age and has been a resident of Clay County 35 years. She had been ill the past two years, and while her death was not unexpected it leaves that lonely emptiness, which the comforter alone can fill. She is survived by her husband, J. O. Padgett, three daughters, Mis. Alva Powell, Mrs. May Wallace and Mrs. Martha Walker and five sons, Willis, Albert, Jack, J.D., and Hanson; four grandchildren and many other relatives. Pallbearers were tile five sons and three sons-in-law.
