Funeral rites were held from the Cragford Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Hobart Murphee, assisted by Rev. J. H. Roberts, Dadeville, and Judge W. B. Nolen. He was married to Le Nora Roberts October 4, 1896, and to this union were born 5 children. Two sons and one daughter preceded him in death. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Nora Padgett, Cragford; one son, A. V. Padgett, Birmingham, and a daughter, Mrs. G. D. Yarbrough, Ashland. Two sisters, Mrs. Annie Harris, Cragford, and Mrs. Mary Collier, Montezuma, Ga. 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. He joined the Methodist Church in 1990 and has taken an active part in church work and was a faithful member until his death. Burial was in Cragford cemetery with Blair in charge. Pallbearers were Joe Causey, Lee Jordan, Lavelle Gray, Artful Walker, C. P. Cummings, Will Bowen. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons.
