Roanoke Leader
Mr. J. B. (Jobe) Padgett passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mae 
Bassett, on Malone Rt. 1, last Saturday morning, April 19, at 11:45. A native of 
Clay County, he was 84 years of age. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. 
Mr. White from the Cragford Methodist Church at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon. 
Interment was in the church cemetery, Quattlebaum's Funeral Home directing. Mr. 
Padgett is survived by three sons: Hilliard of Los Angeles, Calif., Sam of 
Blanton, and Walter of Atlanta: and one daughter, Mrs. Mae Bassett of Malone Rt. 
1.
