Rt 1. will be today at 2 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Zenus Windsor and the Rev. Dee Hurst officiating. Burial will be in Clay County Memory Gardens. The body will be at the funeral home through services. Mrs. Padgett died Friday at Lineville Geriatric Center. Survivors include three daughters. Mrs. Ida Mae Rice and Mrs. Musette Smith, both of Lineville and Mrs. Belle Walker of Talladega; a sister, Mrs. Kate Kirk of Talladega; a brother. Tommy McMath of Ashland; 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Hugh Rice. Emmett Rice, Steve Rice, Richard Hice, John L. Gray. Willis Padgett, Hoyt Walker. Kent Smith. Don Smith and Chester Heidrick. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Cragford Baptist Church and New Fellowship Baptist Church. Mrs. Padgett was a lifelong resident of Clay County where she was a housewife and a member of Cragford Baptist Church.
