Services for Marcus D. Parsons, 78, of Ashland were to be today at 2 p.m. at 
Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. A. A. Jacobs officiating. Burial was to be 
in the adjoining cemetery with Blair-Brock Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Parsons 
died Wednesday at his residence after a short illness. Survivors include his 
wife, Mrs. Dora B. Parsons of Ashland two sons, Ben Parsons of Ashland and L. C. 
Parsons of Sylacauga; a sister, Miss Margie Parsons of Ashland; seven 
grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Parsons was a native and 
lifelong resident of Clay County and was a member of the Baptist Church. He Was a 
Retired farmer.
