She had spent her entire life in Clay County and had taught in the county schools for the past 30 years. At the time of her death, she was teaching at Mellow Valley. She was loved by all who knew her and the beautiful floral offering and large crowd attending her funeral showed the high esteem in which she held over the county. Funeral services were held Friday at 10 o'clock at Olive Branch Church, of which she was a loyal member and church clerk for the post 12 years, also Sunday School teacher. Interment was in Macedonia Cemetery with Blair directing. Rev. Elom Mattox and Rev. Cecil Harrington officiated. Active pallbearers were nephews: Leon Parsons, Ben Parsons, Clinton Parsons, Elmer Hanners, Delmer Hanners and Floyd Hanners. Honorary pallbearers were E. D. Riley. Joe Burroughs, Phillip Yates, K. B. Braswell, Burtram Robertson and Leo Adamson. She is survived by 2 sisters, Margie and Katie Parsons; 2 brothers, H. and M. D. Parsons, all of Ashland.
