Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Union D Baptist Church, Clay County, with the Rev. Donald Elliott and the Rev. Gerald Clark officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in charge. Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Nearl Morrison, Mrs. Adell Barksdale, Mrs. Loraine Jones, all of Anniston, Mrs. Tressie Wilson of Eulaton and Mrs. R. B. Spurlin of Oxford; and two brothers, Aaron N. Pate and Willis H. Pate, both of Oxford. Pallbearers will be Benny Griffin, Shorty Griffin, Raymond Griffin, Jimmy Griffin, Jerry Vargo and Fredrick E. Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be employes of Eighth Street Super Valu Store. Mr. Pate was a native of Clay County and had lived in Anniston the past 20 years. He was an employe of Shorty's Truck Parts. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight. The body will remain at the funeral home.
