Ashland Progress
Funeral services for Mr. E. Y. Patterson, who died Friday, Mar. 1st, were held 
Sunday, Mar. 3rd, at 2 p. m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Grady Birchfield 
and W. B. Nolen officiating. Interment was in Mt. Ararat cemetery, directed by 
White. He was 62 years of age, was born in Clay County and a farmer. He died as a 
result of falling from a ladder. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, 
Mrs. Gendel Raceborski, Sampson, N. Y. Mrs. Flora May Davis, and Mrs. Clara 
Mattox, Talladega. Three sons, Cpl. Thos. J. Patterson, Germany; Pvt. John T. 
Patterson, Kessler Field, Miss.; Robert Patterson, three brothers and one sister. 
Pallbearers were H. T. Maddox, W. E. Maddox, Hubert Watts, J. M. Mattox, W. B. 
Brooks and C. O. Mattox.
