Ashland Progress
Mrs. Bithie Ann Patterson, of the Bethel community, died in Clay County Hospital 
on Sunday, September 13th. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 15th, at 
two o'clock at Bethel Baptist Church with Reverends Eldridge Easterwood, Grady 
Birchfield, Elmer Wheeles and Elom Mattox officiating. Interment was in nearby 
cemetery. Blair directing. Pallbearers were James Brown, Phillip Dawkins, Clifton 
Patterson, Herman Patterson, Clyde Mitchell and George Estes. The deceased is 
survived by her husband, W. W. Patterson; two daughters, Bertha and Ruby 
Patterson two sons, Doyle and June Patterson. Her mother, Mrs. Mary Strickland; 
one sister, Tessie Smith; three brothers, A. B., Arthur, and Sell Strickland; one 
grandson, Wilburn Patterson.
