Lineville Headlight
Mrs. Jane Payne, wife of the late John Payne, who lived near Delta most all his 
life, was in car wreck some few days ago at the home of her son, Lowell, in 
Texas; died Sunday from the injuries. The remains were brought back to Clay 
County for burial Wednesday at Mt. Moriah. She was about 72 years, and two sons 
survive, Rev. Lowell Payne of Texas and Coy Payne of Birmingham. She is a sister 
of Mrs. A. D. Cockrell, Lineville, Ala., Mrs. G. F. Ingram, Delta, Ala. Rev. J. 
J. Smith Lineville, Ala. R 2 and a brother and sister in the west. Funeral was 
conducted by Rev. Woodward and formers pastors, Rev. S. J. and F.J. Ingram and 
Rev W. M. Garrett.
