Ashland Progress
The death of John M. Peoples occurred at his home in the Delta community last 
Saturday. For reasons unknown to the public the deceased shot himself through the 
heart with a shotgun. Death followed immediately. He is survived by his wife and 
four sons, Paul F. Boyd, and Clifford, of Delta, and Dewey of Birmingham, and one 
daughter, Miss Trixie, of Orlando, Fla. Funeral services were held at Bethel 
church Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Parker. Interment was in the Bethel 
cemetery with Blair in charge.
