Perry, who was sick only nine days with the dread disease, pneumonia. He bore it with patience, talked of going home, and hummed songs until the summons came, Mr. Perry was a good church worker, a member of New Hope (West) Baptist church for 18 years. He was active in all religious causes and was always ready to do his bit. He was also active in educational work. He believed in having the best there was to be had. In meeting his friends and associates he always had a smile and a word of encouragement. He leaves to mourn his going a good wife and four children; three girls and one boy; three brothers, one sister, a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Friday at New Hope (West) by Rev. T. E. Steely, of Roanoke, and Rev. O. C.
