Ashland Progress
Mrs. Minnie Pettus, 81, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gordon 
Conville in Ashland on December 5th, after an illness of a few years. Final rites 
were held December 7th at 2 p. m. at Providence Church, near Lineville, conducted 
by Rev. R. T. Sanderson and Rev. E. G. Hutchens. Interment was in church 
cemetery, Blair Funeral Directors in charge. Pallbearers were Elluid Gibson, Sam 
Pettus, Lowell Haynes, Zenus Pettus, Herbert Pettus, William Haynes. Survivors 
are one daughter. Mrs. Gordon Conville, with whom she made her home. Three sons, 
Bill Pettus, Anniston; Bob and Jess of Lineville; eight grandsons; sewn 
granddaughters. One sister, Mrs. Mollie Harris; three brothers, Jess, Ed and Dee 
Forbus.
