Mr. J. B. Phillips, died at her home one mile out of town, last Tuesday. She had lived 60 years. 42 years of which was a member of the Baptist church. Proven herself a most constant member having lived a Christian life. She was a devoted wife and affectionate mother and a perfect Christian lady, as was evidenced by host of friends and relatives to mourn her departure. She leaves a number of children and husband to grieve her separation from them. She was the mother of Judge E.A. Phillips. While we are among the many who feel assured of her happy acceptance extend to the bereaved are symphony. The funeral services were conduct of the Baptist church at this place by Rev. W.A.J. Upshaw pastor of the Baptist church here.
