Our Mountain Home
The funeral services for Douglas Phillips, 32, World War veteran, who died in a 
Lexington, Ky government hospital Saturday, were held at Bethlehem church, near 
Chandler Springs, Tuesday morning. Rev. J. W. Wade and Rev. R. C. Nelson 
officiated. J. J. Cockrell, chaplain of Talladega Post No. 17., American Legion, 
conducted the military service at the grave. The following Legionnaires, served 
as color-bearers and pallbearers: C. T. Gray, L. N. Payne, A. D. Wellbaum, Dewey 
Weaver, Fred S. Giddens, Marion Jones, J.C. Smith, Eli Horn and A. Purcell. 
Interment was in charge of Usrey. Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, two 
daughters, his mother, one sister and one brother.
