Rev. J. W. Wade and Rev. R. C. Nelson officiated. J. J. Cockrell, chaplain of Talladega Post No. 17., American Legion, conducted the military service at the grave. The following Legionnaires, served as color-bearers and pallbearers: C. T. Gray, L. N. Payne, A. D. Wellbaum, Dewey Weaver, Fred S. Giddens, Marion Jones, J.C. Smith, Eli Horn and A. Purcell. Interment was in charge of Usrey. Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, two daughters, his mother, one sister and one brother.
