Ashland Progress
J. T. Poe died at his home on the Ashland-Lineville Highway on Oct. 6 at 1 
o'clock p.m. He suffered a stroke of paralysis about four years ago and had been 
in ill health since then. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Saturday at 
Macedonia. Elder H. Goodman officiated, assisted by Elder B. B. Finley. He is 
survived by his wife and one brother, W. M. Poe, of Sylacauga. Pallbearers were 
J. D. Pruet, 0. K. Gaither, D. K. Carpenter, Rev. M. E. Mathews, Will Birchfield 
and Marvin Hendrix.
