Lineville Headlight
Uncle Ben Pope was born Feb. 21, 1850, was married to Martha McCollum the 19th 
day of Feb 1874. He died March 23, 1926. He and his companion lived a long and 
happy life in their community. He joined the Baptist church at Lineville about 
45 years ago. afterward, he moved his membership to Pleasant Grove. When 
McCollum church was organized, he moved his member there. He was a conrecrated 
member and faithful to the end. He was also a good Sunday School man and always 
knew the lesson. Uncle Ben is greatly missed in the church and Sunday School. He 
leaves to mourn his loss four children, two sons and two daughters, and host of 
other relatives and friends. It is hard to give up so good a friend but let us 
submit to His will. He was laid to rest in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery for 
camming of the Lord.
