Ashland Progress
Mrs. M. L. Powell one of the old residents of the county died at her home near 
Bluff Springs Wednesday Dec 15 at the advanced age of 79 years. She was the 
mother of a family of six children, all of whom are still living, but her husband 
died some 13 years ago. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist church, and her 
remains were laid to rest at old Mt Arrarat burying ground near Bluff Springs, 
Elder H. H. Goodman conducting the funeral service. The deceased was the mother 
of Mrs. W. T. Watts of Ashland.
