Powell, who served as policeman in Lineville for several years, passed to the Great Beyond last Saturday night from an attack of influenza. He is survived by two sons, R.L. Powell of Lineville and Griff Powell of Birmingham; and two daughters, Miss Erna Powell of Lineville and Mrs. C.C. Jenkins of Birmingham. Funeral services were conducted at the home of his son, R.L. Powell, with Rev. G.E. Wallace officiating, assisted by Rev. Mr. Vickers, on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment was in the new cemetery with Blair directing. Pallbearers were H.D. Riley, Clyde Stewart, Jake McCollum, C.C. Coleman, Otis McCain and J. Thos. Bell.
