Ashland Progress
Mrs. Addie Pruet, widow of the late Elder S. W. Pruet, died at her home in 
Ashland about 2 a. m. Tuesday after an illness of several weeks. Her condition 
became serious several days ago and her children who resided at a distance were 
called home, all of whom arrived before her death. Surviving her are five sons, 
Jno. J. Pruet, Ashland; David C. Pruet, Sylacauga Floyd Pruet, Boaz; Sam Pruet, 
Ashland Lee Pruet, Oklahoma, and four daughters, Mrs. Verna Treadwell, Fort 
Valley, Ga. Mrs. Clara Johnson, Mellow Valley and Misses Annie and Addie Pruet, 
Ashland. Funeral services conducted by Elder H. H. Goodman and M. Shaddix were 
held Wednesday afternoon at Macedonia Primitive Baptist church of which Mrs. 
Pruet was a loyal member. The interment was in Macedonia cemetery, Blair 
directing.
