Ashland Progress
Another of Clay County's oldest mothers has gone to the great be yond. Mrs. 
Rebecca Rainwater, widow of the late J. D. Rainwater, died at the home of her 
daughter, Mrs. Joe Prickett, in the Coleta community on February 23, and was 
buried the next day at Poll Bridge, following funeral services in the home 
conducted by Rev. F. J. Ingram. Blair was in charge. Grandsons served as 
pallbearers. The deceased was 91 years of age and is survived by two sons, W. U. 
Rainwater of Alexander City, and John Rainwater of Childersburg; and three 
daughters, Mrs. Homer Mayo, Talladega; Mrs. G. W. Grizzle, of Ashland, and Mrs. 
Joe Prickett of Talladega.
