W. Rascoe, one of the old residents of Clay, and a veteran of the Civil War, died at the home of his niece, Mrs. W. I. Lowe, at an early hour Wednesday morning. He was 82 years of age and was taken seriously about ten days ago, gradually growing worse until the end came. He was well known in that section of the county south-east of Ashland where he resided for many years, but he came to make his home with Mr. and Mrs. Lowe only a few weeks ago. Of his own immediate family only one son, Jerry Rascoe, survives him. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at County Line church and interment was in the County Line cemetery.
