Anniston Star
Services for Mrs. Sallie Shaddix Reaves, 88, of Anniston, Rt. 10, will be 
Thursday at 1 p.m. at Wayside Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Holt and the 
Rev. Paul Goodman officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Clay County 
with Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in charge. Mrs. Reaves died Tuesday at Golden 
Springs Nursing Home. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mrs. Catherine R. 
Bowling of Anniston; a son, Sardis A. Shaddix of Anniston; three stepsons, 
Wallace G. Reaves of Anniston, the Rev. C.J. Reaves of Decatur, Ga., and the 
Rev. Thomas B. Reaves of Wiggins, Miss.; 18 grandchildren and 30 
greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ronald Shaddix, Stan Reaves, Howard 
Morris, Donald Griffith, Archie Brown and Ray Stansell. Honorary pallbearers 
will be members of the Sunday School class of Wayside Baptist Church. Mrs. 
Reaves was a native of Calhoun County and a former resident of Clay County. She 
had lived in Anniston for 45 years. She was a member of Wayside Baptist Church. 
The body will remain at the funeral home until one hour prior to services.
