Ashland Progress
As a result of the explosion of a can of powder, reported in these columns last 
week, Rev. G. C. Reid died and was buried at Pole Bridge Saturday, the funeral 
being conducted by the Masonic order. the deceased was a prominent, citizen of 
his community. He was about 58 years of age and leaves a family. The deplorable 
accident which caused his death occurred on Tuesday of last week at the plant of 
the Norway Graphite Milling Company.

Additional Comments:
He married Columbiana Welch, she died in Jefferson County AL.
