S. J. W. Rice, 80, of Delta, died Sunday in a Tuscaloosa hospital. Funeral 
services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Shiloh (Delta) Primitive Baptist Church 
with Elder B. B. Finley officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery 
with Miller-Robinson Funeral Home of Oxford in charge. Survivors include his 
wife, Mrs. Mary Rice of Lineville; a daughter, Mrs. Fannie Mae Lott of Oxford; a 
granddaughter, Mrs. Janice Hethcox of Jacksonville; three sisters, Mrs. Era Allen 
of Columbia, Mrs. Pearl McDonald and Mrs. Estella Laney. Mr. Rice was a life-long 
resident of Clay County and a member of the Delta Masonic Lodge. There will be 
Masonic graveside rites. The body will remain at the funeral home until one hour 
prior to services.
