Anniston Star
Newton Ezekial Rice, 74, of Ashland died Monday at Regional Medical Center, 
Anniston. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Blair Brock-Service Mortuary 
with burial in Cragford Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mildred 
Bess of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Audrey McConnell of Opelika; five sons, 
Clark Rice of Walhalla, S.C., Ralph Rice of Las Vegas, Sharon Rice, Sherrill Rice 
and Gary Rice, all of Mellow Valley; three sisters Mrs. Eugo Waldrop of West 
Point, Ga., Mrs. Verdo Mason and Mrs. Ollie McWhorter, both of Bremen, Ga., and 
three brothers, Luther Rice of Matthew Rice of Wedowee, and Charlie Rice of 
Lineville Nephews will be pallbearers Mr. Rice was a native of Randolph County 
and lived in Clay County a year.
