The service was conducted by his pastor, Rev. Cecil Ray, assisted by Wilbur B. Nolen. The deceased was born and reared in the Lystra community and had resided in the home where he died for the past 37 years. He had been in declining health for several years, though not confined to his bed until about two weeks ago when he began to suffer from carbunkles which were said to be the immediate cause of his death. Mr. Riddle was one of the county's best farmers and was a deacon in the Lystra Baptist church. He was a good citizen, honest and thrifty. He was 66 years of age and is survived by his wife, three brothers, Joe John and Bill Riddle of the Lystra community; two sisters, Mrs. R. G. Upchurch of Lineville, and Miss Ella Riddle of Lystra. Those from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. W. Riddle and daughter, Vonnell; Mr. and Mrs. Trice Riddle and sons, Harold and Jimmie; J. B. Riddle. and Mrs. Sam Riddle of Montezuma, Mr. and Mrs. E. Nelson and son, David, of Winterboro; R. G. Upchurch and sister, Miss Lina, of Lineville, and Mr. Monroe Sailors of Pyriton. Interment was in the Lystra cemetery, Luquire of Aniston in charge, Active pallbearers were: Grover Johnston, Houston Golden, O.K. Gaither, M. W. Perry, R. L. McKing. Honorary pallbearers were Z. P. Jordan, L. W. Runyan, Cecil Sims, Y. C. Pace, K. J. White, W.L. Runyan, Sims, M. W. Morgan, B. M. Runyan. Anniston Star: Trice Riddle, age 65, of Ashland, died at his home early this morning. He had been ill one month. Funeral services are to be held tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock at Lystra Baptist Church. Colonial Chapel is to direct interment in the church cemetery. Mr. Riddle is survived by the widow; three brothers. J. B. and John Riddle. Ashland, and Bill Riddle Cragford; and two sisters. Mrs. R. G. Upchurch, and Miss Ella Riddle both of Ashland.
