Ashland Progress
J. L. Roberts, a good man of the Bowden Grove community, died at his home last 
Thursday following an attack of influenza. Mr. Roberts was 74 years of age and 
had spent most of his life in the community where he died. He is survived by the 
widow and five sons, all residing in the Bowden Grove community. Funeral rites 
were conducted at the grave at Poplar Springs by Rev. F. J. Ingram, interment 
being made in the Poplar Springs cemetery, Blair directing.

Note: Family Sources say "At one time this grave had a marker, but the grave of 
John Roberts & his wife was destroyed.
