S. J. Robertson was stricken with a heart ailment and died instantly at her home at Highland seven miles north Ashland. She and her husband were alone at the time. Mrs. Robertson had spent all her life of 78 years Clay County, most of the time in the community where she died. Before her marriage to Mr. Robertson, she resided near Lineville and is remembered by the older inhabitants of the county as Miss Rada Reeves, daughter of the late Elijah Reeves and wife. She was married to Mr. Robertson in 1881 and besides the husband who is 79 years of age, survived by three sons, Willie of Anniston, Larcus of Edwardsville, and Blake of Ashland, and three daughters, Mrs. Alfred Shaddix of Ragland, Mrs. L. M. Bishop of Lineville, and Mrs. E. E. Beck of Sycamore. The deceased was an active member of Concord Baptist church, which place funeral services were held Monday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. Ingram, assisted by former pastors, Rev. S. J. Ingram and W. R. Ingram. Pallbearers were Billie and Bernie Bishop, Jack Robertson, Ralph and Earl Shaddix and Pelga Owens.
