L. Runyan, in Ashland Monday afternoon at 3:20 o'clock. He had been ill for a long while and his death was expected by his family and friends. Mr. Runyan was 82 years of age and had been a resident of the county the greater part of his life, He was a veteran of the Civil War in which he served as both private and as officer. He was the father of 11 children six of whom with their mother are living. They are L.W. Runyan of Lystra, T.E. Runyan, Leeds; Mrs. J. C. Stanford, of Talladega, Mrs. Wilson, of Texas, arid Mrs. Devore; who resides near Ashland. The deceased was a faithful and loyal member of the Baptist church, also of the Masonic order. His remains were interred in Shiloh cemetery with Masonic honors. Revs. A. A. Hutto and F. J. Ingram took part in the funeral service.
