E. Sanders, one of the oldest citizens of this section, died at his home one mile east of town on Monday, August 10th, and his remains were interred in the Lineville cemetery with Masonic honors Tuesday morning. He was born in Tolbert County, Georgia, October 5, 1822, and at the time of his death was 85 years, 10 months and 5 days old. He had lived in this community about forty years and was highly respected by his neighbors and all who knew him. Two or three days before his death, realizing that the end was near, he signified a desire to unite with the Baptist church here by letter and although unable to be present he was received into the church. He lived to a ripe old age and in his death the community lost one of its honored, pioneer citizens.
