Ashland Progress
A negro, whose name was given to Coroner Carpenter as Arthur Sanford, was killed 
near the Carbon Mountain Graphite plant Sunday night and, according to the 
coroner's report, he was shot by John McGehee, another negro who went to his 
house and raised a difficulty. The negro who did the killing is said to have 
posed as a preacher and bad been holding services just prior to the killing.
