Funeral services were scheduled today at 2:30 p.m. at Ashland First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Henson, the Rev. John B. Collier and the Rev. A.A. Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Ashland City Cemetery with Blair Brown-Service Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include his wife. Mrs. Clara Pruet Saxon of Ashland: three daughters Mrs. Troy S. Pruet of Ashland. Mrs. Jimmie S. Mackey of Birmingham and Mrs. Margaret S. Scarbrough of Raleigh. N.C.; a son. William F. Saxon Jr. of Ashland: seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Radney Saxon, Charles W. Pruet, Perino Gaither, Julian Newman, B. B. Saxon and Pierce Saxon. Active in local politics. Mr. Saxon was a member of First Baptist Church of Ashland. He was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County.
