Anniston Star
Hayes Shaddix, 73, former night watchman at Rudisill Foundry and one-time 
employee of Linen Thread Anniston Cordage Companies died at his residence, 1101 
South Avenue, last night follow a long illness. Funeral services will be held 
Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at Union Church in Clay County with burial in the 
adjoining cemetery. Rev. Wallace Sprayberry and G.C. Shaddix will officiate with 
Usrey in charge of arrangements. Mr. Shaddix is survived by one brother. George 
W. Shaddix of Anniston and one sister, Mrs. Ellender Duke of Cullman. Pallbearers 
will be Sardis, Idus, Everette and Emory Shaddix and Marvin and Vester Duke.
