Our Mountain Home
Lewis Shaddix, 19-year-old son of Mr. & Mrs. Rufus Shaddix of Talladega, was 
accidentally killed at Frank's Garage in Talladega, Monday afternoon when struck 
on the head by a piece of cast iron thrown by centrifugal force from the fly 
wheel of a dismantled automobile engine. He was at once rushed to a hospital but 
lived only about 30 minutes. Young Mr. Shaddix was married in December to Miss 
Lorene Wesley and she, also his parents, five brothers and one sister, survive 
him. His parents formerly resided in Clay County.
