Services for Mrs. Gladys L. Shaddix, 62, of Delta, Rt. 1, were today at 
Benefield Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Riddle and Elder B.B. Finley 
officiating. Burial was in Delta Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of 
Lineville in charge. Mrs. Shaddix died Monday at Clay County Hospital after a 
short illness. Survivors include her husband, CD. Shaddix of Delta; two 
daughters, Mrs. Joan Hughes of Weaver and Mrs. Judy Jarrett of Americus, Ga. two 
sons, Charles W. Shaddix of Clanton and Carter L. Shaddix of Eastaboga; four 
sisters, Mrs. Mary Spisak of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Era Fuller of Oxford, Mrs. 
Essie Carpenter of Ashland and Mrs. Esther Weathers of Alexander City; two 
brothers, Albert Latham of Lineville and Ulus Latham of Delta; and nine 
grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jackie Cooper, Bobby Miller, Ralph Carter, 
Bradford Smith, Ronald Howie and Charles Howie. Mrs. was a lifelong resident of 
Clay County and a housewife. She was a member of Delta Baptist Church.
