Ashland Progress
Funeral services were held Wednesday of last week for J. D. Shirey, (35, who died 
Monday in Citizens Hospital, Talladega. Rev. D. Hurst conducted the services 
which were held at Concord church, Blair directing. Mr. Shirey is survived by his 
wife, one son and six daughters. Pallbearers were Bruce Arnold, L. J. Arnold, 
Ernest Hudgins, Charles Shirey, Melvin Watts and Delmar Jones.
