Ashland Progress
Mr. J. W. Shirey died Sunday, October 26th, at one p. m. at his home on Ashland 
Route. Funeral services were held Monday p. m. at Fairview, conducted by Rev. J. 
B. Ledlow, of Talladega, with Blair directing. Pallbearers were Ralph Milstead, 
William Milstead, Fred Shirey, L. V. Martin, J. R. Gentry, and L. D. Strieter. 
The deceased is survived by his widow, one son, Fred Shirey; two daughters, Mrs. 
Milstead and Mrs. Watts.
