Ashland Progress
John Sides, one of the oldest citizens of the county was found dead in his bed at 
his home, one mile east of Ashland Monday morning. Relatives say that he would 
have been 90 years of age at his next birthday which would have come in a few 
weeks. He had been living near Ashland for half a century and had reared a large 
family. The remains were interred at Poplar Springs cemetery, several miles north 
of town and in the community where Mr. Sides spent most of his life.
